Tariff classification and advisory

We tell you what your goods will pay before you buy them: tariff line, duties, applicable treaties and requirements, with numbers rather than guesses.

The decision to import is taken long before a shipment exists, and almost always with an incomplete figure: the supplier’s price. What determines whether the business is profitable is the landed cost, and that is where duties, taxes, permits and charges that do not appear on the invoice come in.

Our advisory puts those numbers on the table before you commit. We classify the goods, calculate the duties, check whether a treaty lowers the tariff and tell you which permits you will need, so you buy on the real margin rather than the apparent one.

What’s included

What tariff classification and advisory includes

Tariff classification

Tariff line under the Central American Tariff System with its DAI, ISV and any specific tax, documented so you can defend it in an audit.

Landed cost

Freight, insurance, duties, port charges, fees and inland transport on a single sheet, before confirming the purchase.

Treaties and certificates of origin

We check whether your goods qualify under CAFTA-DR, Central American trade or the EU agreement, and which certificate you need to benefit.

Regular updates

We let you know when a regulation affecting your goods changes: tariffs, permits, labelling requirements or customs procedures.

Step by step

How we do it

  1. 01

    You describe the goods

Technical sheet, use, materials and origin. A photo and the pro-forma invoice are usually enough.

  2. 02

    We classify and calculate

Tariff line, duties, applicable treaties and required permits.

  3. 03

    You decide with numbers

You receive the landed cost and requirements before paying the supplier.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Is the tariff classification final?

Our opinion is based on the description and the general interpretative rules of the SAC. For complex or high-volume goods we can request a binding ruling from the Customs Administration.
